Today is the day! After a long, slow, boring, and mostly uneventful (until very recently) offseason, professional, televised baseball is coming back to our eyes. The Grapefruit League baseball season will be delivered to us in only a few short hours.

During this 32 game spring season, Yankee fans will capture the first glimpse of Giancarlo Stanton playing in pinstripes, the battles for the infield will take place, and unfamiliar prospects will hope to play phenomenally to make a name for themselves. Soon, the Yankees will finalize their 25-man roster and head up for Opening Day in Toronto.

Minor Trade: Jabari Blash to Angels for Cash/PTBNL, and Some Thoughts:

As a way to clear 40-man roster space for the newly acquired Brandon Drury from the Diamondbacks, the Yankees had to designate Jabari Blash for assignment (DFA). Once DFA'ed, the Yankees have 10 days to trade him to another team, or else they risk losing him for nothing. Most often these moves are for small amounts in return, and the return for this trade- like many others- may not be known for a few weeks or months.

It was a quick turn around for Blash from being DFA'ed to going to another major league club, as within a day the Yankees were able to flip him to the Angels for some package TBD.
