The Yankees are back on the road for a 10-game West Coast trip and it gets started tonight at Safeco in the first of a 4-game weekend series with the Seattle Mariners. The Yanks hosted the Mariners a few weeks ago, dropping 2 of the 3 games at The Stadium. The worst of those games was the 12-2 beatdown they took on May 15th, the night Phil Hughes failed to get out of the 1st inning and possibly killed any last hope he had of being re-signed by the team or desired to be re-signed by the fanbase after this season. Hughes gets another crack at the Seattle lineup tonight and I feel confident he'll at least be good enough for 3 outs this time. It's been a true Harvey Dent season for Phil this year. He's either been fantastic or terrible, no middle ground whatsoever, and there doesn't seem to be a way to predict which version of Phil you're going to get game to game. He wasn't good last time out against Boston and Seattle's stacking their dangerous lefties at the top of the lineup, so who knows what we're in store for tonight.
Lineups for both clubs are below the draft chat. Aaron Harang gets the start for Seattle. Not a bad opposing pitcher to help keep the offensive re-awakening and the winning streak going. Recap will be up tomorrow morning since this baby's a late one. Let's go Yankees!
