Wednesday Morning Links: 3/9/16

I could probably write something pretty decent this morning.  I'm riding an incredible sleep hot streak, like 5 good nights in the last 6.  I'm awake, I'm alert, and I don't even care that the office coffee is worse than usual.  But the cube monkey life is already calling, so here are some links. - Last Friday, Chris Carelli of Yankees Unscripted pondered the "starter or swingman" options for Bryan Mitchell.

- On Saturday, Chad Jennings had thoughts from Joe and Carlos Beltran on Jorge Mateo's hot start to spring camp.

- On Sunday, Jason Cohen of Pinstripe Alley cautioned Yankee fans to not expect much from Rob Refsnyder at third base.  That may seem a little harsh after Refsnyder's first game there, but it's a dose of reality that some fans probably need.

- On Monday, CC Sabathia wrote something for TPT detailing his battle with alcohol addiction and offseason rehab.  Definitely a must read if you haven't already.

- David Schoenfield of ESPN SweetSpot profiled the AL players who are heading into make-or-break seasons in 2016.  I think I would have picked a different Yankee than he did, but I can't argue with his choice.

- On Tuesday, Mike Axisa detailed the things that need to happen for Luis Severino to take the next step in his sophomore season.

From the IIATMS team:

- On Monday, I emptied the mental draft box on my early Spring Training thoughts and musings.

- Stacey did an excellent piece breaking down how Michael Pineda's profile as a strike thrower has worked against him in some regards.  Locating better with 2 strikes might be the most important thing in taking Pineda to the next level.  This was originally posted on the big mothership blogs, so you know it's Grade A.
