Matt Holliday to the DL, Miguel Andujar Called Up

Matt Holliday has been placed on the 10-day DL with.. an illness. Teams usually don't DL sick players, but the Yankees are in enough of a roster crunch to require fairly drastic action.

Andujar was only recently promoted to Double-A. The third baseman is having a strong season, .312/.346/.491 with great contact numbers and solid defense. Ideally, he would be given some more Triple-A time, but I think there's a solid chance he's better than Chase Headley right now. My bet though is that he mostly rides the bench for a week while Holliday recovers.

The current state of hitting on the roster is... not good. Refsnyder is below replacement level at either DH or 2b, and we're not sure yet what Tyler Austin is. I still think the Yankees would be smart to DFA Refsnyder and call up one of Mike Ford, Dustin Fowler, or Clint Frazier.
