The Yankees have indicated (many times) that they need (or desire) one more starting pitcher. They lost out on Gerrit Cole (who was traded to the Houston Astros). They lost out on Yu Darvish (who signed with the Chicago Cubs). They have seemingly been unable to make a trade for Michael Fulmer of the Detroit Tigers, among others.
Pitchers and catchers report in just a few days. How do you handle this?
Do you feel the rotation (Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka, Sonny Gray, Jordan Montgomery, and C.C. Sabathia) is good enough?
Do you believe that the young arms in the system (Chance Adams, Justus Sheffield, among others) will be ready to fill a void if necessary.
Do you sign one of the remaining free agent pitchers (Jake Arrieta, Alex Cobb, Lance Lynn)?
Or do you target a pitcher to trade for? If so, who? And, how will you get that deal done?
You are the GM... Let us know your thoughts!
