I don't care about this Super Bowl. I'm not a fan of either team, nor does either fill me with the kind of loathing one has for Dallas or New England. I was hoping Buffalo would make it, or Detroit, but neither did, so this is a big Meh.

The Mahomes myth as superman lives on and this SB is no exception.... if Niner D can hold the edges and pressure QB they will have a very good chance to win this game.... 27-23 Niners in a nail bitter. 😀

Today is my gang's 34th Annual SB Party. I've hosted in about 14 times, leading the pack. It all started, not because of the Giants being in SBXXV - even though that didn't hurt, it was because one of us invited a few of us to watch the Championship game a week earlier, but he had no sodas, chips, cookies. It was simple back then - cookies, soda, chips, and order 3 or 4 pies back then. That first year, I paid for everything (got some money back for the pizza) but I …

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to all!

Personally, I’ve been a Niners fan since Joe Montana left Notre Dame and became the starting QB midway through the season back in 1980. So, I’ve enjoyed the highs of the Montana & Steve Young runs of the 80’s and early 90’s. But I’ve also endured the now 29 year drought, that should have ended in 2020 had Shanahan managed the team better with a 10 point lead.

I think San Francisco has a better roster now than in 2020 (Purdy > Jimmy G; CMC > Mostert; Aiyuk > Bourne). I also believe that the Chiefs offense is not as good as they were back then (other than the additional experience of Mahomes). Therefor…

I was in Hong Kong on for that 1991 playoff game, which started about 4 a.m. local time. I set my alarm clock and watched every minute until 7:00 a.m., when the game cut off abruptly with the Giants down 13-12 with only a couple of minutes remaining, and local educational TV came on. Remember, Children, this is before the internet, and I also don't have a radio to try to get the U.S. Armed Forces feed. I am beside myself.

Finally, I get a bright idea: There's an English-language phone book in the room, so I look up the number for the local Associated Press office and call. I got a guy with an American accent, and I expla…
