Rookie Chase Pitches Nats to Win Over Yanks
NEW YORK, Aug. 9 (AP) – The Washington Nats’ young lefthander Ken Chase cooled off the Yankees today beating the league leaders 4 to 2 in nine hectic innings at the stadium
Chase, who gave up nine walks but only six hits, won the game in the sixth when he singled to center driving home Cecil Travis, who had opened the frame with a double.
Red Rolfe was the only Yankee who could do anything with Chase. The third sacker collected three hits, half the Yank total.
