MORNING DISCUSSIONS:

Ethan's Trade Deadline Predictions:

News, rumors, and more keeps coming in as I'm finishing up this article to go live at 10:00 AM, but I wanted to quickly put out some predictions that I have for today's trade deadline.

1) J.C. Escarra will be traded. BUC's are oddly desired in the league and the Yankees seem to always have a few extra. He'll bring back a bullpen arm.

2) The Yankees will NOT get a starting pitcher, nor is Schlittler going to be traded. The Yankees will believe in Fried-Rodon-Warren-Stroman-Schlitter to hold down the fort until Gil and Yarbrough return.

3) Oswald Peraza will not be on the Yankees after today. He'll either be in a trade or sent to Triple-A. Thus, the Yankees will acquire another super utility player (maybe a guy like IKF).

4) I will get my hopes up too high about the Yankees bringing in David Bednar, and when it doesn't happen, I'll be sad. But, if Cashman shocks me and brings him in, I will have my new favorite Yankee! (He and I went to the same college: Lafayette!)

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
