Night-after-night they Yankees put up historically bad games.

Like a few other recent posts, the following are some facts (with some opinions mixed in) shared via Twitter (X).

The first post below is from us...

Aaron Boone :"I am confident in our approach."

Stat - No team in baseball has struck out as many times as the Yankees over the last month (since June 7).

Two points based on the comments I read below:

  1. "Yanks went through a really good stretch too (led in several offensive categories)"- yes they did- against very weak pitching- they do little against good pitching

  2. "Hal has to do something"- probably give Cashman and Boone contract extensions! ):

How Boone still has a job is bewildering...

There's a word for what the Yankees are doing. It's on the tip of my tongue. Just can't remember -- wait, I got it!

They need Trey Wilson to come in and scare the daylights out of the players. Unfortunately, he died 37 years ago.

No matter how you want to spin this losing streak.... time has come for some significant changes in the entire organization.... as much as Yankees are set in the way they go about their business Hal has to do something at some point. Cashman can't fix this mess... so your move Hal!

Replying to

there is something that I have said in the pages here at SSTN many, many, MANY times. I think it could be extremely relevant here.

I have VERY real doubts that Hal even watches the games!!

facts iz facts

and the plain facts iz that facts are open to different interpretations.

plainly, the team is going through a really bad patch

just as plainly, they were goin right good fer a spell.

leading the AL in HRs, stolen bases and drawing lotsa walks.

they aint still leading in walks and that aint good

and they sure as sugar are striking out at a crippling rate.

there may be some real, some obvious reasons for the bad patch

and, fact is, reasons just aint the same as excuses.

"Scattering The Ashes has all the feels. Paul Russell Semendinger's debut novel taps into every emotion. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll reexamine those relationships that give your life meaning." — Don Burke, writer at The New York Post

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
