Volpe is still stepping out. the biggest difference, I believe, pre-ASG, he was so frustrated that he was missing the mistakes on the inside of the zone

post ASG, pitches are doing him the favor of regular pitches or mistakes on the inside of the zone and he is doing a much much better job of hitting them

Kenley is a nightmare matchup for Volpe. he can throw that cutter on the outer half all night and all Volpe can do is roll it weakly to SS, until he stops stepping out and takes that ball to RF

if not for the come back the unearned run scored in the second by Hamilton on Volpes error would have been the…

If the Yankees coaches don't see it, dies Volpe still bail out or is it our imagination?

well short of 4 hours

and it didn't even require the 12 runs that I thought would be necessary

do you think Holmes can nail it down?

if he fails, they don't allow him to go to Philadelphia

I would allow him to go to Philadelphia. In a TRADE to there.

Wells keeps doing things that say he isn't going anywhere except to becoming the starting catcher. Also it helps that Augustin Ramirez was traded away today.

perhaps the Ramirez trade removed some amount of pressure from Wells

did the trade for Jazz place doubt in the mind of Gleyber and pressure on his shoulders?

as Smoltz pointed out, he did look jumpy at the plate today

he has been hitting much better

i do feel like during his career, Gleyber is prone to trying too hard do make something special happen, instead of just relying on his talent and letting the game come to him

i will always feel bad that Gleyber's Yankee career has gone the way it has. I am happy for him that he got that BIG hit

pitcher did him a favor throwing him an inside pitch
