Schlittler's last start as a Yankee?

Still no Rosario.

Today Rice is a side dish.

6 of 9 in Yanks batting order have 10+ HRs -- could soon be all 9

Will the OF get tired playing every day?

Alan, what do you think is the analytics answer for letting Goldy bat in the 9th instead of Rice?

I am a HUGE Goldy fan. I am thrilled with what he has brought to this team this year and far less likely to want him out of the lineup than MOST!!

at the same time, I have ALWAYS said he should likely sit often against the very tough RHP

well, Fairbanks is a bit of a monster!! in my view there is absolutely no excuse for not having Rice batting there

also, this would seem to refute the idea of Boone not making decisions, because I cannot imagine any way analytics says to let Goldy bat in that spot? …

I am still waiting for anyone promoting the idea of selling to tell me what it is we need with a bunch more prospects? we already have WAY more pitchers than we will be able to use. we also have an abundance of catchers and OFers

here is our probably lineup next year

Rotation

Fried

Rodon

Cole

Gil

Warren

Schlittler

Beck

Schmidt

that is a solid to strong rotation with excellent depth

and even if we absolutely keep everyone listed there we could still trade 8-10 pitching prospects to make improvements. and still have excellent pitchers left over

position players

1b Rice (young player with years of control)

2b Jazz (young player control thru next year)

3b McMahon (one of…

Paul, please look at the plays Bellinger has made 1. tonight. 2. in the last month. tell me that DJ was EVER remotely this athletic?

Belli is barely 30 and he looks every bit at young as 30 says. I have doubt that any expert doubts his ability to be an athletic and valuable defender for at least 5 more years. if the athleticism remains why should the bat disappear?

I think there is a case to be made that the fact he was down and has found a way to be a good hitter again might be a positive in this discussion? no? I also think there is a case to be made that he was not completely healthy at the end of his LAD career

I do not remember the specifics, but as I recall he had a meaningful injury and his swing changed.

anyway, I am not basing this strictly on the hitting, but regarding the hitting, what is the main theory for DJ losing his ability to be a good hitter? lower body injuries robbed him of his foundation and power and his ability to produc…
