I really believe that Will Warren could develop into a very very solid and useful MLB pitcher. I do not think he is going to ever be a #1 for a good team, but I think he could definitely become a guy that you would be comfortable having as a starter in a playoff game!!

I like him!

that said, I believe there is a very strong chance today was his last start as a Yankee. the other possibility is that we are listening to BC next week telling us AGAIN that everyone was asking for TOO MUCH and being unreasonable in trade demands

I'm in favor of trading Warren and/or Jones IF trades that benefit the Yankee team are available.

can't simply decide to trade away guys with reasonably good potential value because they are likely surplus to requirement. there must be a solid return and that return must increase the organization's chance of securing a World Series appearance,

first thing to understand is whether ant such appearance in 2026 is likely.

if there is such likelihood, then the organization must attempt to bolster it.

if not, the urgency is lessened.

So the Yankees are relying on shutting out the other team in order to win. Outstanding.

Today's slash line: .138/.219/.345/.564, with a bonus 0-3 RISP. This is disastrous performance. They got lucky that the Cubs hitters stunk even worse today. Actually, we need to celebrate Warren, who totally shut down the third-highest run-scoring offense in MLB. That's non-sarcastically "outstanding."

Hey, this approach worked for the Hitless Wonder White Sox of 1906: 87 OPS+ (third worst in AL) and 119 ERA+ (2nd best in AL), World Champions. One can dream.
