If the Marlins win (and sweep), they'll be the only MLB team with a franchise record of .500 or better against the Yankees. Don't let that happen!

EVERY move Boone made today was WRONG. Both the pitching moves and the hitting moves!!

the team was down by 2 after losing 2 in a row, with ZERO room to be throwing games away!!! EVERY pitcher in the pen except Bird was easily available!!!

there is no excuse for Headrick to be the guy brought in to a 2 run game!!! NONE

when they bring in a lefty, probably the best move is pinch hit ALL the RH bats and Goldy should probably be the first bat off the bench. for one he is EASILY the best defender in the scenario that he stays in the game!!

but if it is going to be picking and choosing then Jdom…

Replying to

i have pointed these things out to Alan many times and asked him that exact question. I asked it already today in the QH thread before I saw this post from you

I asked it in the TBR series when we were behind in the 9th inning and TRB had Fairbanks on the mound. he is a VERY tough righty but Goldy was allowed to bat when Rice was available

i see no chance analytics tells anyone that batting Goldy is the wise or correct decision

BC did a lot of work and I would say behaved outside of what is normal for him to significantly improve this team at the deadline

I BELIEVE that he did it because of…

IF he was not going to pinch hit ALL the righty batters vs the LHP then it was a mistake to bat for Jdom instead of McMahon. no way to deny that

when you are down by 3, offense is a bigger priority than defense and Jdom is clearly the better hitter

so Boone will pinch hit for both rookies, Jdom and Rice, but he will not pinch hit for McMahon and Wells

Jdom has been hitting near .300 vs LHP for over 2 months now

Rice has decent numbers vs LHP and excellent power numbers

also Goldy is batting JUST under .400 vs LHP

why was Slater the first pinch hitter instead of Goldy?

IF Miami goes back to a RHP later we have now lost Jdom and Rice who are FAR better hitters overall compared to McMahon and Wells

every move Boone makes proves he does not know how to use the roster to get optimal value!!!

once again Henriquez is in the game. this guy was one of my top priorities for the deadline

question, after seeing Cabrera today any thoughts about trading Jones for a young pitcher like this under control thru 2028?

looking at them today are you ready to bet that Gil is a better playoff starter than Cabrera?

supposedly Cabrera was one of our big targets, but Miami was insisting on Jones.
