I doubt there will be many companies asking for patch space on the Yankees' unis anytime soon
And following the team meeting...
The Yankees are down 6-1 in the 8th... (and that was with their ace on the mound).
They're heading for their 7th loss in a row.

The longer Mr. Cashman and/or Mr. Steinbrenner let this debacle continue, the more they turn the fans off, the more they send a message that they have no immediate or long-term answers, and the more the give they impression (if nothing else) that they do not care.
Honest question, quotes from Boone... do these inspire confidence? Does this sound like a leader?
"We've got to kind of prepare and compete every day with a mind that today's the day we turn it around."
***
Imagine FDR... "We have to, kind of, know that we have nothing to fear, but, you know, fear, well, fear itself is kind of frightening. "
Imagine Gehrig, "Today I kind of, sort of, in a way, feel like a lucky guy."
Imagine any great leader trying to motivate his (or her) staff, team, whatever... Would you use the words "kind of?" We have to kind of prepare?
Really?

The Yankees are 7 games out of the Wild Card with 40 to…
The Yankees haven't really put up much of a fight since getting their guts ripped out in the 9th inning last Sunday. They're down for the count. They're Sham being destroyed by Secretariat in the Belmont in 1973 and realizing that they just can't compete. Tear it down.
If you think the collapse has begun, I think it's going to get worse as the players basically give up. There is another angle to this collapse. Does anyone agree that the collapse devalues the Yankees players even more than they already are hurting any chance of a prospective team being interested in trading for them in the offseason? Not counting Judge and Cole, of course.
