Game on YES at 6:40 pm
NEXT UP: Saturday, August 17th, at 1 pm, at Detroit
I've long held the opinion that if you prevent the other team from scoring ......
sooner or later, you'll manage to win the game
It's nice to have Kelly Leak on your team
Cole is throwing a lot of Knuckle Curves today. He seems to be using that as his primary pitch today, along with his 4 Seam Fastball and his Slider.
The problem with Detroit's "bullpen game" strategy, besides burning up many of their relievers and making them less likely to be able to appear in tomorrow's game, the more relievers a team uses, the more likely they will have to use the one (or more) reliever who is not going to have a good game. The Yankees odds increase of facing a reliever who "just doesn't have it today".
That's why the strategy should always be, get that opposing starter out of the game as early as possible, so the Yankees can see as many different relievers as possible, and eventually reach the one who is not at his best, or is not one of their higher leverage relievers.
Hopefully, Judge will "hurt" Hurter (not physically, but by getting a big hit off of him).
