I was hoping they would give Oswald Peraza the 3B spot every day instead of merely as a platoon player there. Peraza made significant improvements while he was at Triple-A, including a notable alteration to his batting technique. Peraza has adopted a toe tap to his swing, a change that has resulted in home runs during critical two-strike counts. The adjustment came after insightful conversations with Triple-A hitting coach Trevor Amicone, leading Peraza to implement the toe tap universally. Games like this, that happen enough from a pitching perspective, are why I hate not having at least two of the eight arms in the bullpen be guys that can go 3-4 innings at a time.
