Game 158: Baltimore (87-70) vs New York (92-65)

Writer's picture: Philip CashierPhilip Cashier

Downgrade Yankees post-season hopes. Cortes to IL with elbow flexor strain.

Poteet called up.

Stroman back from bullpen to start tonight's game.

Wells seems to have caught (pun intended) "Cleanup Hitter's Disease"

Dominquez makes quest appearance.

Despite being one of the very few Yankees hitting, Torres should be benched for that dumb play at home.

Tonight is "low leverage reliever" night. Although I think Poteet deserves to be promoted to "high leverage reliever".

No complaints about Cody Poteet's performance tonight. Maybe Poteet should have been the "emergency starter" instead of Stroman, a role he has excelled in on two other occasions this year. At the very least, when it was obvious in the first inning that Stroman "didn't have it", they should have had Poteet start the second inning instead of Stroman.

It's painful having to watch this on the Orioles station.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
