Game 160: Pirates (74-85) vs Yankees (93-66)

Rests galore! Kind of surprised Judge is sitting one out.

Even Soto takes 1/2 day off.

Shouldn't Grisham be on the bench getting ready for the playoffs? Cabrera at 1B -- is he only Yankee who can back-up Rizzo at 1B?

Can Rodon end the season with an ERA under 4?

I would have Berti hit for Grisham and Judge hit for Cabrera. Let's see what Boone does.

We agree on that. And that's the wrong way to go about it.

"Guardians loaded the bases woth one out in the 8th and their next two batters struck out."

You sure it wasn't the Yankees in a replay of any of a number of games this year?

Remarkably good inning by Holmes, with a nice bailout by Grisham on the line drive. Could they have actually fixed him?

As I've mentioned earlier today, there are reports that the Yankees finally got around to fixing him. If what Michael Kay just said in the telecast is true, WHO DO I FIRE FOR BEING BOTH STUPID & STUBBORN?

If there was, the 1919 White Sox would be the all-time leader in that stat.

I am going to develop this thought further in an article on Monday, but here is very clear, crystal clear, no one can rationally argue differently, so so so clear, and a perfect example of how the Yankees' organization is not run well.

On the TV broadcast, they just stated that the Yankees have started to think about (think about, they do not have a plan yet) how they are going to handle the week off next week.

"They might have some activities on Wednesday. They don't what that looks like yet... etc..."

One key to success is planning. The Yankees had to know that it was a strong possibility that they'd win the division for weeks now. IThey shou…

It was Meredith M. reporting on her discussions with Aaron Boone who talked, as she reported in plurals, "We haven't made the plan yet..."

It is a given that when the YES TV reporter talks to the manager that what he says will be reported on air.

This wasn't an undercover sting job. This was the way the Yankees go about sharing information on a daily basis with their own manager talking to their own reporter who shared it with their own braodcast team on their own network.

It's impossible to assume that Boone did not know that what he was saying was going to be reported as such.
