Game 161: Pittsburgh (75-85) vs New York (93-67)

Tough game for the Yankees vs Skenes

Several Yankee regulars rest before the 5 day rest period. As Yogi might have said, "You can't rest if you're not rested."

If Wells doesn't start hitting can the Yankees afford to keep him batting cleanup in the playoffs?

seriously, if Hal even watches the game and if he cares even a tiny bit. there need to be big changes. i still do hope and believe this team can win the WS

but they will do it despite the people who are supposed to be helping them- front office, manager, coaches, OWNERSHIP

Hey Aaron, we got 3 games to go and then you get a week off before the playoffs, lets finish WITH PURPOSE!!! lets finish the season like we mean it!!!

lets NOT be like the guy who has a chance to score a 70 yard TD, but starts celebrating at the 6 yard line and gets caught by a defender or accidentally drops the ball

lets FINISH!!!!!

you know I have always been ok with the team having a celebration like the 2 they have recently had

it is a LONG season. it requires a lot of work. i have not had a problem with celebrating when you check the goals off of your list

BUT, apparently this team does not know how to celebrate the steps along the way and come back ready to work again the next day.

IF I am making decisions for the Yankees, NOBODY sees another inch of plastic sheeting or touches another drop of champaigne until they lift up a WS trophy

hey boys, you want to have a party? go and win the freaking trophy that really matters!!!

Replying to

Like I always say, I would have much rather they celebrated by the Yankees taking the team out to a fancy New York City restaurant and treating all the players to a Filet Mignon dinner and a refillable GLASS of champaign, and save the "champaign clubhouse soaking" for winning the World Series.

Judge does not put ONE SINGLE ball into play today. whoever agreed that he needed a day off can start polishing his resume

I never realized that they removed Poteet from the roster for Will Warren. WHO MADE THAT DECISION? Talk about stupid with a capital S! Warren has stuff to work on, that him being in Instructs is a lot more benefit him rather than coming back up here. Decisions like this, is why I want Cashman & his gang gone! Oh, and if they go, most of the coaching staff, including the Manager will be gone too!

i am hoping with all i have got

and still believing that the Yankees can play to the best of their ability when the games matter most. i sincerely still believe it (yes I do question my own intelligence or sanity somewhat regularly), but what is a fan supposed to do? go around telling himself his team has NO CHANCE??

that said, IF the Yankees were to get dumped in round one... would Hal ACTUALLY make ANY changes? or would he just go on playing his fiddle, while BC burns the dynasty to the ground
