Rice and Goldy switch positions.

Grisham benched for 0 fer day.

Yarbrough the Opener? Wasn't that his Tampa Bay specialty?

Now 3-7 in one-run games. They have to stop finding ways to lose close games.

Replying to

of those 10, how many have we scored 4 runs or less? i bet we have scored 4 in at least 2 of the wins, and 4 or less in at least 5 of the losses

the pitchers, and for some of us Leiter specifically, are gonna take the blame. Phil already proclaimed Leiter the heavy. this game is on the offense!! Littel came in to today with 5 losses and a 5+ ERA

not exactly a daunting matchup!

I do give the Rays some credit too. they made some plays on defense

is Rice starting to cool? last 6 games including today (he had one 3 hit game) 4 hits, only 1 BB, 9 Ks

so that is one…

The walks are what are killing the Yankees this game. Six walks are unacceptable. Two of them turned into runs.

Replying to

six is too many

but some walks are necessitated by the situation

while others are a product of having to employ second-tier pitchers

some guys, Carrasco comes to mind, must resort to throwing outside the zone

i would call that a mistake on Judges part. he SHOULD force the pitcher to get a strike before offering at something at the bottom edge of the zone

What? they're not giving Judge the IBB and letting Cleavinger go after Rice? A head scratching move
