I think the Yankees are going to have to consider upgrading at catcher if Wells' offense doesnt improve.

what if Rice is more than slightly below average as a catcher

and suppose further that adding the defensive/information responsibilities of playing catcher interferes with his hitting.


should we be looking to improve the offensive production at catcher when the offense if generally sound

and

should our search for improvement consider "solutions" that might impose increased responsibility upon a player already being extremely productive?
