Game 49: Mariners (25-22) vs Yankees (33-15)

Berti at 3B again. Is Cabrera hurt??

Stanton's recent hot streak is very Monty Pythonish, "I ain't dead yet."

Berti should hit more fly balls than ground balls.

Phillies only team with a better record than the Yankees -- but they've only played 6 games against teams over .500

MARINERS

Rojas, 2B -- .301

Rodriquez, CF -- .274

Raleigh, C -- .228

Raley, LF -- .293

Haniger, DH -- .217

Moore, SS -- .229

Canzone, RF -- .220

France, 1B -- .235

Urias, 3B -- .162

Gilbert, P -- 3-2, 3.07

YANKEES

Volpe, SS -- .270 (123)

Soto, RF -- .311 (175)

Judge, CF -- .266 (175)

Verdugo, LF -- .244 (107)

Stanton, DH -- .252 (132)

Rizzo, 1B -- .256 (110)

Torres, 2B -- .225 (77)

Trevino, C -- .284 (124)

Berti, 3B -- .277 (99)

Stroman, P -- 3-2, 3.33

Game on YES at 7:05 pm.

NEXT UP: Tuesday, May 21st, at 7:05 pm, vs Seattle

definitely stinks to end the streak this way. i am much more bothered by the wasted baserunners than i am with Holmes

he did have 2 BBs, BUT if seattle does not get TWO seeing eye VERY WEAKLY hit infield grounders, and a seeing eye texas leaguer. come on serious?? if you combine the exit velo from all 3 of those "hits," they still dont reach 95mph!

Holmes was FAR more successful than he is going to get credit for and he will be fine, unless everyone convinces him that he should begin worrying and start looking to make changes

So will this be another GIDP to end the game?

Yankees absolutely deserve to lose this game.

Again, why isn't Weaver allowed to collect his own save? I hate the damn formula. Now, both Weaver & Holmes are not available tomorrow. Sigh
