go back to his last start vs LAD. Peraza has hit the ball hard now in 6 of his last 8 PAs- 3 htis and 3 hard outs

the other 2 ABs

a 7 pitch BB

an excellent 9 pitch AB ending in a K where he had just one swing and miss

of course now he has his worst swing of the night, but he still deserves to play. ALSO remember he is not supposed to be good vs RHP but he had 2 hits off RHP tonight

as Ramirez also proved tonight there is definitely an element of luck in hitting. Peraza aint having much o the good kind a luck

i feel like i am constantly screaming about Volpe. I sincerely am a fan of the kid!! if he puts up something in the neighborhood of his current stats, he is a very valuable player!!

BUT, he FAR FAR too often does NOT play intelligent baseball. that is extremely frustrating from a player who is KNOWN as a gym rat type player, a student of the game. this is a kid who grew up loving baseball and wanting to be Jeter.

Jeter made all the plays he was supposed to make and in the biggest moments, he made plays he was NOT supposed to make

Volpe does not need to improve his stats to be valuable, but he needs to…

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
