I went out about 6pm. The air reminded me of being in Cairo about 24 years ago -- winter time and all the heat was from coal fires. I stepped off the plane and went, "Oh wow, smoke." To be fair, my English wife says Liverpool smelled like that in 1980, so I'm not casting aspersions.

So is tomorrow a true "twi-night" double-header? Remember those? I'd be tempted to go for such a single-admission, 18-inning treat, but tomorrow is likely to be a busy work day.

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
