Stanton starts rehab stint at Somerset -- Boston next stop?

Rice sits, Judge DHs

Yet another new lineup with Wells dropped to 9th

Fried's ERA is more than double that of the Royal's starter!

Judge simply MUST stop hitting 2 HRs in Yankee losses.

The Home of George Brett -- an appropriate setting for Judge to get back over .400

Can it continue? Judge's BABIP is .468

Over/Under: Innings by Fried: 7.77 (Admittedly, the number is a little flight of fancy on my part.)

YANKEES

Goldschmidt, 1B -- .312 (135)

Grisham, CF -- .240 (134)

Judge, DH -- .396 (246)

Bellinger, RF -- .261 (120)

Chisholm, 3B -- .214 (117)

Volpe, SS -- .244 (116)

Dominguez, LF -- .236 (108)

LeMahieu, 2B -- .258 (103)

Wells, C -- .221 (104)

Fried, P -- 8-1 , 1.78

ROYALS

India, 2B -- .248

Witt, SS -- .291

Garcia, 3B -- .312

Pasquantino, DH -- .280

Perez, 1B -- .229

Canha, LF -- .266

Caglianone, RF -- .240

Fermin, C -- .255

Waters, CF -- .273

Cameron, P -- 2-1, 0.85

Game on YES and TBS at 7:40 pm

NEXT UP: Wednesday, June 11th, at 7:40 pm, at Kansas City

sub-par outing for Fried, who gave up 2 runs in only 7 innings.

raised his season's ERA

on the other hand, fanta might soon be willing to credit Fried with the W

They may be Royals, but for the Yankees that was a princely win.

Two outs, bottom of the 9th, 8-run lead, and you walk the batter, forcing Boone to waste Hill to get one out. Awful.

I agree. i had absolutely zero issue with letting him pitch the 7th and get to 90 pitches. i could understand if they let him get to 100 and get thru 8, but I would not have done it.

Hill is one of our most reliable bullpen arms. why bring him into an 8 run game? i am using Hamilton every time in that spot

does anyone else find it to be a surprise that Sal Perez has a career WAR of only 33.9? when Cone was talking about him going into the Royals HOF, I decided to look at his career numbers. I was not expecting any crazy number, but i would have bet a LOT that he was over 40 career WAR

he does have negative 1.2 for this year. he has played 14 seasons

imagine how much differently catchers will be valued if MLB goes to the non human strike zone

Sal won his GGs in 5 of his first 6 full seasons. maybe he would have continued to win them if framing does not become such a huge emphasis. by contrast Jose Trevino would struggle to throw Gary Sanchez or Giancarlo Stanton out on a steal attempt but managed to win a GG
