As I shared earlier... I have a game of my own this morning.

If I am back in time, I'll get the lineups posted. If not, hopefully one of our readers will post it below.

Can someone please explain to me why Weaver was taken out after only 12 pitches? It's not like he is a guy who pitches back to back days. Baseball wise, this move made zero sense.

Good point. He also threw 12 pitches yesterday.

After walking the bases loaded and at 100 pitches, Civale was obviously done. Why was he left in? Bad bullpen management -- did Cash not have a reliever up? After Verdugo's hit, why was he left in? After Trevino's hit, why was he left in? If I'm the TB GM, Cash is in my office tomorrow explaining why he shouldn't be fired for incompetence. I think even the Boone haters would admit he would never pull such a series of bone-headed non-moves.

Yeah, in my hypothetical conversation with Cash, he'd probably counter with, "Then why don't you get me some decent relievers, and if you can't do that, maybe you should get fired."

Again, I don't recall ever seeing this many warning track and near-warning track flyouts. Is it the cold weather? Dead baseball? A switch away from exit velo philosophy (i.e., swing as hard as you can and don't worry about strikeouts)?

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
