Aaron Boone is the manager of the New York Yankees.

Aaron Boone, when he last played, in 2009, batted .000 over ten games.

Here is Aaron Boone focusing on getting some good cuts in the batting cage during batting practice when it might be assumed that the manager should be planning for the game, developing a new strategy, working with the hitters on their approaches, discussing situations, motivating the players, stressing fundamentals, taking lollipops out of the dugout, or doing any number of things a manager should be doing.

But, Mr. Boone, it seems, needed to work on his swing.

I think Boone has to go (and have thought that since last year, just to have a change to shake things up).

But let me ask, what do you do to clear your head when things are tough and the walls are closing in? Take a walk or a bike ride -- how can you do that when you have papers to grade, students to discipline, staff meetings to attend, etc., etc., etc.? I tell you, I wish I had room for a batting cage in my back yard because there are few things in life that are more satisfying with one's clothes on than smacking the heck out of a baseball spit out by Iron Mike.

You make a fair point, but you're missing the point.

As a school or district administrator, if I went for a 10-mile run in the middle of the day or when I was supposed to be preparing for a meeting, people would question my judgment.

I used to like to work a heavy bag and a speed bag in my garage at home. If I brought them to work and hung them in my office, that would, rightfully, be seen as a problem.

Boone continually exercises a lack of understanding of the situation. And his role as a leader.

If he's stressed and he wants to bat out balls before the media shows up, that's one thing.

Unfortunately, guys like Billy, Buck, Bobby Cox, Lasorda, etc. aren't walking through the door. the Front Offices don't want that guy anymore. But I knew this before Boone was hired, and for Cashman, nothing had changed since, nor has Hal made him change squat!

But the off day tomorrow should be more than sending Cabrera and Jones down. Either do an out of this universe trade or I got at least 7 or 8 pink slips to give out:
