At some point, at some point, the manager has to take responsibility for this. No?

Clarke Schmidt pitches for weeks with soreness that leads to Tommy John surgery.

Jazz Chisholm plays for weeks, out of position, at third base, with a sore shoulder.

Now we learn that Mark Leiter, Jr. suffered a stress fracture two weeks ago, and he pitched with this injury.

The (only?) supporters of Aaron Boone speak to his "great" communication skills. If the man was communicating with Jazz Chisholm, he would have known that his shoulder hurt. If he communicated with Mark Leiter, he would have known that his leg was damaged. If he communicated with Anthony Rizzo two seasons ago, he would have known he was suffering from a concussion. (On and on...)

Something with the Yankees is terribly wrong. Tragically wrong.

How can things like this continue to happen? How can they be allowed to continually happen?

Who is running the team?

Who is talking to the players?

Do the players not feel comfortable talking with the manager and/or his coaches?

What is the team's medical staff doing?

This has progressed to the absurd.

stress fractures often present as relatively minor and might be construed as 'soreness' more than an obvious and painful injury.

it's not a question of shielding the Yankees.

it might, in some way, be a question of properly accessing whether a training staffer should be able to diagnose an unreported and somewhat subtle injury.

might be a question of whether Leiter reported anything other than usual soreness.

some conditions are easy to see. some are not.

Until the fans stop showing up and the stadium is half empty, nothing will happen. The cash registers are still ringing and Hal and his partners are happy. He could care less about the product on the field. The fans need to force the issue. It's time for Boone, Cashman, and the whole group to be shown the door. Enough is enough. I'm very angry that the manager and the entire coaching staff did not know that Schmidt had a problem on June 2 and they allowed him to pitch with the injury already apparent. This is malpractice on so many levels. Now Clarke won't be back until 2027. Excellent work there, Boone.

Again, as I've said over the last year or so, when does Aaron Boone stand up for himself and by his words and/or action tell Brian Cashman: I DARE YOU TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! He needs to cut the puppet strings and start being his own man.

But seriously, something is severely wrong with the YMG (Yankees Medical Group). I've only been questioning them seriously since Greg Bird and his ankle issue, where someone, anonymously in the front office openly called him a liar. Turned out Bird was right.

Something is definitely wrong with Brian Cashman when it comes to listening to his medical team. All I got for you is them telling him don't trade for Montas, but…
