New Year’s Yankees Optimism
Part of looking at a new year is the hope that a new year brings.
I have documented the needs and the flaws that the Yankees have heading into 2021. But, what if the players on the team, the current Yankees, just perform to their best levels?
What if each player on this team matched his career year?
Imagine the possibilities!
If that happened, considering the roster right now…this is what the 2021 Yankees would look like.
(Can you say, “World Championship?”)

Quick note:
I took each batter’s best ever batting averages, homers, and RBI.
For the starting pitchers, I took their highest wins, most strikeouts, and lowest ERA.
For the relief pitchers, I just posted their best career ERA over a full season
(These were not each the same season for each player.)
If a player’s best numbers came in a shortened season, I projected that number over 500 at bats or 150 innings pitched.
