San Juan, P.R. (August 16, 2023) - Rimas Sports, the sports management agency bringing higher representation to Latin athletes, announced today the signing of Everson Pereira, the outfielder for the New York Yankees Triple-A affiliate Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. The 22-year-old Venezuelan rising star is one of baseball’s top prospects, ranked at #3 in the organization and #80 in the Minor Leagues, per MLB Pipeline.
This season, Pereira has been delivering an outstanding performance that has already achieved him a promotion to Triple-A –he started the season with the Somerset Patriots in Double-A. As he continues to constantly impress fans and experts alike, the talks about his promotion to the Major League Baseball this season is not out of the question. In his 77 games this season (in Double-A and Triple A), Pereira is slashing a .299/.363/.536 for a .899 OPS. He has also hit 16 home runs and 62 RBIs. Pereira signed with the New York Yankees in 2017.
"We would like to welcome Everson Pereira to the Rimas Sports family. We are honored that he has chosen our agency to further his career, and we have no doubt that together we will accomplish great things," said Jonathan Miranda, President of Rimas Sports. "Our unwavering dedication to discovering and cultivating exceptional talent continues as we advocate for greater Latino representation in the sports arena."
Rimas Sports is the home of baseball stars and highly-ranked prospects, includes Francisco Álvarez (New York Mets), Wilmer Flores (San Francisco Giants), Ezequiel Tovar (Colorado Rockies), Santiago Espinal (Toronto Blue Jays), Jordan Díaz (Oakland Athletics), Ronny Mauricio (New York Mets), Marco Luciano (San Francisco Giants), and Diego Cartaya (LA Dodgers). The sports management agency, which launched this year, is a partnership by global recording artist Bad Bunny and executives Noah Assad and Jonathan Miranda.
The company is an independent venture not affiliated nor a division of Rimas Entertainment.
Unless this is a paid advertisement (and if so, should be noted as such), I don't see the news value in running a press release verbatim, particularly on a subject as trivial as who is representing a minor leaguer. Assuming it's worthy of any notice, it's worth one or two sentences, tops.
OK, but when do we see Pereira, LF in the NY Yankees lineup?
