After yesterday's article, you knew this was coming...

While there is good to look for heading into the 2024 season... there are also some bad signs:

Jose Trevino - He was injured for most of 2023. He never played after July 17. When he did play, he batted only .210.

Anthony Rizzo - He suffered a concussion. He didn't play after August 1. From June 1 on, he batted just .171.

Gleyber Torres - Led the Yankees by grounding into 19 double plays in 2023.

Anthony Volpe - Had an OPS+ of just 81 in 2023.

D.J. LeMahieu - People keep talking about his great second half. It was one good month (August). In July, he batted .247. From September 1 on, he batted just .245.

Juan Soto - I'm sure his defense will be criticized, but, come on, even in this article I'm excited about Juan Soto!

Alex Verdugo - Outside of Fenway Park, he was just a .248 hitter in 2023.

Trent Grisham - He hasn't batted even .200 since 2021.

Aaron Judge - He was injured with a toe that still requires attention. After his return, he batted only .245.

Giancarlo Stanton - Batted only .191 in 2023. His batting average has gone down each of the last two seasons.

Austin Wells - Batted only .240 last year - in the Minor Leagues!

Gerrit Cole - While his winning percentage at Yankee Stadium was .818 in 2023, on the road, it was only .750. Wait... that's still great! (I am allowed to have some fun as I write this article.)

Nestor Cortes - He's only reached 100 innings pitched in one season in his entire MLB career.

Carlos Rodon - Had a winning percentage of .273 and an ERA of 6.85.

Marcus Stroman - For all his talent, he has a 77-76 lifetime record.

Clarke Schmidt - He threw 102 more innings last year than the season before. That's a cause for concern.

All of this is real. Let's hope that these numbers (except for Cole's) don't repeat in 2024.

Let's Go Yankees!

So, you're a journalist, and a Fan?

Or Troll, like most spoiled Yankees fans of late.??!!, instead of cheering for our Yankees, you'd prefer to boo them?!

That's a Troll, and we don't need you.

After 35 years of playoff baseball, ⚾,

Good luck rooting for your next team, You should learn how to lose, graciously, before you can win, in the same manner...

Numbers don't lie. I share your concerns. Plus, they are also 1 year older.

Every one of those pessimistic words after each player's name have one thing in common. Numbers. Stats. Numbers and stats that reflect how each player has done in the recent past. These numbers paint an accurate picture of how these players performed in the recent past. However, these numbers can't accurately predict the future, and more specifically, how each of these players will perform in 2024.

Many of those players were injured in 2023, which directly effected their "numbers" for 2023. IF (always a big "IF"), those same players who missed significant time in 2023 with injuries and then came back less effective, stay reasonably healthy THIS season and stay off the Injured List and don't miss significant time, thos…
