Forgive this being so short, but I'm also writing the Game Summary...

The Yankees crushed the White Sox tonight, winning 10-4.

Cody Bellinger homered.

Jazz Chisholm homered.

Trent Grisham homered.

Anthony Volpe had two hits, and a sacrifice fly.

Will Warren earned the W.

Full re-cap at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow.

are the Yankees the first team of the 2025 season to score more than 700 runs?

are they the time with the highest run/gm average?

Except the pitching has held opponents to 3 or fewer runs in 64 games. Some of the most visible failures have been in the bullpen, but overall, it's been the hitting inconsistency that has doomed them.

Or look at the numbers this way: 4 runs scored yields about a .500 record, and indeed the Yankees are at 12-11 when their pitching gives up exactly 4 runs. But they are 13-8 when they score exactly 4 runs. That's the pitching holding down the opposition to 3 or fewer runs when the offense is being mediocre.

Man, those White Sox look like they shrunk.

But Warren didn't "earn" this victory; the hitters handed it to him on a platter after he blew the lead early. Another example of how W-L records for pitchers really don't mean anything.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
