Quick Hit: 1-3.

Anthony Volpe is the hero of Game 4 thanks to his 3rd inning grand slam! Late offense helped them win 11-4. They're still alive.

Not that I want to get ahead of ourselves (and I think the Yankees will win tomorrow, but that there is no way Rodon can possibly pitch adequately in Game 6), but how sweet would a comeback from 0-3 be against Dave Roberts?

The way I look at it, the Yankees began this season by winning 4 in a row against a formidable opponent, they can also end the season by winning 4 in a row against a formidable opponent, making a perfect bookend for their 2024 season.

I will say this. All 30 managers in baseball get second guessed multiple times each season. All 30 of them gamble on several occasions and make moves that their fanbases disagree with, and many of those moves absolutely turn out to be the wrong ones.

Just watched Anthony Volpe being interviewed by Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez (and "Big Papi"). You could tell that Volpe was in awe of being interviewed by his two childhood idols. First Jeter, then A-Rod. Of course, they whipped out that famous picture of 8-year old Anthony Volpe at the Yankees 2009 World Series ticker tape parade for him.

not only the Grand Slam

his bottom of the 8th was not as pivotal, but was significant

he manufactured a big run

Reflect on this fact. LA runs scored in WS so far: 18. NY runs scored in WS so far: 18. Yet LA up 3-1. It likely would be 2-2 if Boone brings in Hill in Game 1.

Yankees 25 OBP points better, though both are low (NY is .312). LA 77 SLG points better. Once again, other than last night, Yankees cannot drive in runs, but we knew that.
