Today the A's taught the Yankees a lesson. A tough lesson.
Read this slowly: A's 7, Yankees 0
Read this slowly: The Yankees had three hits. Three. The Mighty Yankees managed three hits.
Clean-up Hitter, Giancarlo Stanton, was 0-for-4.
I could go on...
It's ugly.
But have no fear, the braintrust that brings this to the fans on a daily basis has a plan for tomorrow - Marcus Stroman.
I know many Yankees fans want to find ways to spin this and find good in the team, but the Yankees are playing very bad baseball - and have been for the better part of the month.

Might make the playoffs.
Since May 30 the Yankees are 12-15.
Since June 13, they are 5-10.

Regarding Run Differential... this is an area the Yankees often do well in because they have a lot of guys who are sluggers and sometimes the Yankees score runs in bunches.
As such, the Yankees have had a few huge run scoring games this year. In blowouts (games won or lost by 5 or more runs) they are 15-5. Impressive!
If one looks at run differential, that has to be considered.
But, one must also look at one-run games. In one-run games, they are 12-16.
Fans might wish to remember the 1960 World Series.
The run differentail for the Yankees was +28 over 7 games. Tha…
Look, there's no shame in getting 3-hit by the A's pitching staff. It's remarkable we got 4 hits the other night! I mean, the A's are like lights out on the mound.
Hmm, what did you say? How many runs allowed? They are last in the League, you say?
Oh, my.
it' just gets worse and worser
they went into this game with the best run differential in the league, only a slim lead in the AL East
and a lousy ,500 record in June
and now....... I dont even wanna look at the run differentials, or the AL East standings
but I already know that the lousy .500 June record is lousier and worser
If nothing changes…. This team is going nowhere in playoffs!
