We need another solid starting pitcher. After Fried, its very iffy.

and there's not really very much not to like about Schmidt once he gets the rust knocked off/


but you're quite correct in desiring another really good starter. there is no minimizing how much the loss of Cole hurts the team.


with Cole, and Gil, this was a really solid squad, best in the AL

I think you both have good points. Coming back by 4 after being down 6 isn't close, but having Wells and Judge up in the 9th as the tying run does feel like it's a bit closer than it otherwise might feel.

Can't win 'em all. But this loss is much easier to stomach that the Williams meltdown on Saturday. Today Schmidt just didn't have it. It happens.
