***

Aaron Judge hit a late homer. Before that Paul Goldschmidt had a pinch-hit homer.

Will Warren pitched well, picking up 9 strikeouts.

Luke Weaver struck out the side in the 9th.

Yanks over Mariners 3-2.

The Yankees went 6-3 on this west coast swing. Impressive!

(Gemini AI created the image, I asked it to show, in cartoon style, a Yankee standing over a defeated Seattle Mariner.)

instead of so much writing about Goldy not being good vs RHP (which is mostly false!!) we could / should change the narrative to talking about how insanely good he is vs LHP

he is starting to get close to OPS+ of 2.000 even in small samples that is RARE

Seattle has good pitching and the games were well worth watching, worth losing a little sleep.

Seattle's hitters did not look to be as potent as NY's. top 10 looked to be less formidable than top 1.

gotta say that the M's can pitch a bit. the Yanks scored heavily in the first game, but were muzzled, for the most part, in the last two.

Warren pitched terrific on this trip: 12.1 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 0.73 ERA, 2 BB, 16 K. That's fantastic from your No. 4 starter.

I was counting the Padres... my mistake. I even corrected Tim's article early today with that same mistake.
