your points are definitely valid!!

that said, IF they were going to let people get out of their own messes, why not let Hill stay in? and I can say that I DID say that to my son (who I was watching the game with) in real time. Hill had only thrown 4 pitches AND all he gave up was one well hit ball

Pedromo's hit was pure luck. it was a seeing eye cue shot that happened to push a run across. then he got a potential GIDP but Carroll is too fast

they they pull him

one solid line drive to left and two week grounders, of which one finds a hole

so IF we are going to…

One bad pitch a hanging splitter cost them the game. Why not bring in Weaver for a four out save. Boone mismanagement rear it's ugly head again.

Replying to

why wouldn't the coaches wish to have Leiter escape the mess he made?

it's not as if Leiter doesn't rack up strikeouts.

the coaches always look bad when a reliever blows a game

and Leiter made quite the mess

but the coaches cant ride one or two relievers this season. they have too few top starters healthy and a whole lot of innings to cover.

it might have been a good idea to yank Leiter and bring in Weaver if they had Williams available last night. but they didn't and they cant really count on getting 84 innings out of Weaver for this season.
