The Yankees managed just 2 hits today in a 2-0 loss to the Marlins for their 2nd loss in a row with 2 major baserunning blunders...too bad.

Aaron Boone said that he doesn't think the Yankees make more base running mistakes than other teams.


Boone said he saw nothing wrong with Jazz Chisholm's double play.


(Note - A few readers below feel my "take" here is inaccurate. I understand their points. To clarify - as I understand Boone's comment with this play, he seemed to indicate he liked the idea of what Jazz was doing, just not the result. My take is I see hanging off the bag on that play to be bad baseball - period. Jazz was too close to first to make it to second if the second baseman dropped the ball on purpose. wow, i hate to be the person defending Boone, but it is strictly in the narrow scope of this discussion

very honestly, I think Jazz should not start today, but I have also been thinking that for a few days. he is back to a LOT of swinging and missing!!! his post IL hot streak has ended.


I also hated how defiant he was about the whole thing when he spoke to the media.


I DO believe Boone was attempting to thread a needle here. they have always taken the approach with Jazz, that Jazz should be Jazz.

my gut feeling here is that they might get some bad response from Jazz if they did remove him from the starting…
