Quick Hit - Yanks CRUSH A's

by Paul Semendinger

May 10, 2023

I'm not sure how much we can take from this first season sweep for the Yankees, but without looking forward, and just looking at what we saw, the Yankees were dominant.

Today, the Yankees won 11-3.

Last night, the Yankees won 10-5.

Before that it was 7-2.

Boom. Boom! and BOOM!!!

Teams have to win the games they play. The Yankees did that. And they did it convincingly.

Anthony Volpe hit his first career grand slam.

Harrison Bader continues to be Superman.

It's all good.

Full recap tomorrow from Derek McAdam.

Let's hope this is not fool's gold. The next 4 games will tell us a lot about the chances of turning the season around.

precisely, they blew a game that they had seemingly put away.

I don't wish to minimize that they screwed up,

but wished to call attention to the fact that they were far from overmatched.

those games were up for grabs

and a depleted Yankee team wasn't .... quite.... good enough.

6-2 since being 15-15 on May 1. Have to keep that up, and have to beat the Rays. Basically, they've had three groupings of games: 13-8, 2-7 and now 6-2. Gotta stay away from that 2-7 play.

do you wish to say anything about how DJ homered and sat for Bauers

with Bauers homering and then sitting for DJ's return

in which DJ again homered?

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
