Quick Hit: Yanks Lose.

Well, there goes the perfect season.

Giants 7

Yankees 5

Giancarlo Stanton homered, but he also grounded into the game ending double play with the tying run on second and the winning run on first and only one out.

Clay Holmes didn't look good.

not at all good to lose to a fringy Giants team

but not at all bad to mount a rally in the bottom of the 9th.

it failed ...but it was not a glass-is-entirely-empty sort of failure

They should have saved Hicks for Stanton's slot. He'd only have made one out and then given Donaldson the opportunity to fail with the tying and winning runs on base.
