The Yankees won HUGE last night. That win came after two consecutive wins that came in their last at bat.

The starting pitching is good enough to keep them in any game, and if you're in the game, you can win it. The problem of late has been bullpen meltdowns. It a close game, that's fatal. Likewise, when 6 or more guys are hitting, they win; when 2 or fewer guys are hitting, they lose. That's what happened during the recent 4-10 streak. In 5 of those losses, a reliever took the L (and 3 of those were walk-offs). In only one of the losses did they score more than 3 runs.
So my conclusion is that they can't be fully "back" unless they upgrade the bullpen and the resurgence of Grisham, Chisholm and Volpe continues.

they've enough starting pitching to win more games than they'll lose, but they've not yet assembled a consistently good relief corps and are not consistently preventing opposing teams from scoring more than 3 runs/game
nor have they managed to score 6 runs in each game. they're not yet averaging 5.
This is the sort of performance that makes me crazy. They've outscored their opponents in the last six games 24-12, yet went 3-3. Does that sound like a team that's back?
Are they back? Nope. They have shown they are very streaky. In an era where they have diminished the SP, the bullpen is too inconsistent. The current plan is to do some iffy trades, and count on Schmidt, and Weathers (due to his innings/health) to fortify the bullpen.
I'm not even going to discuss the offense at this time.
