A straight-forward question asking for a straight-forward answer.

If you were the General Manager of the Yankees. How much longer would you give Aaron Boone before you let him go?

Like I have said before Hal is in that circle of "Bad Owners" In my opinion he's in Top 5! Cashman generally gets a pass because of his longevity but he is trending up the list of ineffective GMs and Boone rounds out the trifecta.... in the Top 5 of bad managers but where he in the group of 5 is a personal preference! I'd rated him #3 there might be 2 ahead of him however I can't name them.

The premise of the question denies the reality that Cashman and Boone are indivisible. That being the case, the General Manager is NEVER going to fire Boone. The only one with the power to end this madness is Hal Steinbrenner. Unfortunately, Hal seems more interested in generating profits than winning Championships. Any actual firing will be an off-season move. The firing, if any, will be Cashman AND Boone; failing that, it's lather-rinse-repeat.

My questions is how much longer can they go with the terrible play in the middle infield and a catcher that is completely lost on both sides of the ball. I've never seen a worse dp combo. They need to address it asap. It doesnt matter if joe Mccarthy or casey stengle is managing.

if Boone gets the Yankees into the World Series, I would allow him to return in 2027

Replying to

you've long made a distinct point of calling attention to the very limited extent of the field manager's control over the team.

he organization is under the control of the GM,

and, while I generally positive view of the organization,

I well understand your POV and the logic of affixes blame

upon the person who has been granted control.
