Cashman is, in effect, Hal's brother- Therefore, he will not be fired- Cashman is so arrogant that he can't admit a mistake- Therefore, Boone has not been fired (let alone extended!)
I would have never gotten rid of Girardi
If Joe had quit for some reason, I would have never hired Boone. wherever Francona was in the Fall of 2017, I would have given the payout to have him in the manager chair for the Yankees in 2018
if for some reason I was the GM and forced to have Boone as the manager (VERY obviously we all know this is not and was NEVER the case!!!!), but IF, I think at the absolute most I would have possibly waited until the very feeble exit vs houston in 2022 before I said either you let me fire Boone and hire an actual baseball manager or I am giving my resignation.
I want to revise my earlier comment...
I would have never hired him in the first place. It made no sense - and it makes less sense each day he remains as the manager.
I would have pulled the trigger, at the latest, after the embarrassing World Series loss.
