It's prediction time...

How will Spencer Jones do overall in this first big league call up? Will he stick in the Majors? Will he be a success? Will he fail and be sent to the minors? If he is sent down, will he make it back?

What are your thoughts about Spencer Jones as he begins is Major League career?

(Please have a great discussion, but please, as I have asked for years, refrain from giving the player insulting nicknames and making insulting comments. Thank you.)

I am being optimistic. I dont think he will strike out any more in the majors than he has done in the minors. Given playing time, i think his offense will gradually impress. It wont happen over night. The key is getting at bats and getting comfortable in the lineup, as well as good coaching from the staff.

I don't like his batting stance at all. Looks kind of weird and funky 🤔. The swing is all or nothing. He has to shortened up his swing and make more contact.

Jones is a strikeout machine with a ridiculous, too-much-motion batting stance. Send him back to AAA and get Judge's batting guru to work with him.

Judge had a strikeout problem and figured it out and so must Jones.... we'll see if the Yankees give him the chance to do so! Sometimes you have to fail to succeed!

I made a statement below and what does Jones do? Makes contact enough to drive in Caballero. That's what I'm talking about. Contact! The homers will come if he concentrates on bat on the ball.

My impression of Jones is that he is thinking home run when he's at bat. Until he completely changes his approach and thinks about contact (driving the ball up the middle, or thinking opposite field) he will fail at the MLB level. He's about to face pitching he's never had to deal with in the minors. I don't like making predictions but in this case he will eventually be sent back down as the Ks pile up.
