Before Yesterday's game, one in which the Yankees lost, Katie Sharp posted the following:

That was also before the Yankees put Aaron Judge on the Injured List.

The Trade Deadline is at the end of the week.

Does it make sense for the Yankees to chase a World Championship in 2025 or should they be sellers and begin to restock for 2026 and the following seasons?

For many years now the organizational mindset is to make the playoffs and then hope for the best.

Even if by the thinnest of margins, they currently hold first wild card position. They will not and should not switch tracks and fold now.

But here is the big “but”: They MUST be honest with themselves even if they are not always so with the fans.

#1. Will The Captain truly be out only these 10 days in a precautionary move? Or, is it more serious?

This is the whole enchilada. IF a couple of guys, maybe Stanton or Bellinger, step up for a couple of weeks maybe they can survive a short term absence of the game’s best player. McMahon…

If we look at the standings today they are a playoff team - a benefit from their good start. If we reasonably criticize for the "swoons" that is common to this team, we should also acknowledge the history of righting the ship. So, no surrender. That being said I'm also a realist. They have been stinking for awhile now, and there are some real holes in the pitching staff. This time of the year though, there are lots of opportunities and teams looking to make moves, and I'd like to see the Yanks to be very active and creative. I think they should put out the word that imminent free agents are available, and be in conversations for controllable guys…

Channeling the late/great John Belushi:

What? Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until WE decide it is! This could be the greatest season in Yankee history, but you're gonna let it be the worst? Come on, man! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!... It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'. Who's with me? Let's go!

i guess the point I am trying to make is nobody has to call it going for it in 2025. I am saying we have LITERALLY

20 recognized valuable pitching prospects

3 young MLB catchers and 3 more in our top 30

we have a 22 yo MLB OFer and SEVEN OF prospects who are in the top 30 or near that value

there is NO POSSIBLE WAY we need all those players. the entire purpose of the farm is to supply the MLB team with players!!! sometimes that means they move up directly and sometimes they are traded for immediate and PROVEN MLB help

it sounds like MN IS making Jhoan Duran available. IF that is true the Yankee…

Cashman gets his budget from Hal who isn't going to sell his copy of the Mona Lisa... the Yankees need a reset and Cashman has to be replaced, then the manager and then and only then will things improve.... so the way the Yankees do things.... cast your eyes to the end of the season for changes of this magnitude to take place!
