Readers' Thread: Prediction Time

March 24, 2024

***

Ok readers. Have some fun here. Make your predictions.

What place will the Yankees finish in? Who will play the most games for the Yankees? Who will lead the team in home runs? Which pitcher will lead the team in wins? What player will they acquire during the season? Will the Yankees win the World Series?

Enjoy!

If spring training games are any indication of how the regular season will play out, we will be the most rested team in mlb.

I don't really like making predictions because ANYTHING can happen over the course of a 162 game season. There are way too many conditions that can cause predictions not to happen, because predictions are based on the team ON PAPER and not on other circumstances that will occur that will effect the play of specific players and the entire team in general. Nonetheless, I will take a stab at this:

1.) Yankees in 1st place. Offense is FAR SUPERIOR to any other AL East team.

2) Juan Soto leads the team in GP, RBI & BB, second in GP will be Anthony Volpe.

3) Aaron Judge leads in HR. Giancarlo Stanton, a very close 2nd best in HR.

Replying to

VERY much agree

the Yankees not only had the edge in pitching,

but still have it.

but Baltimore tanked their way to a heckova lot of good position players

they have a fine offense and it's going to remain fine for several seasons.

should new ownership spend big bucks, it's gonna got real interesting

Yankee pitching will not hold up and injuries along with BP falling apart late in season will result in a 3rd place finish. 88-89 wins. Soto will have a monster year and Judge will lead Yankees in HR 42.

Volpe and Soto play in most games. Yankees will get into playoffs as WC but will not get to WS.
