Readers' Thread: Predictions

March 3, 2024

***

Okay, my friends, let's have some fun this week.

Make some predictions:

  1. Who will score more runs Juan Soto or Aaron Judge?

  2. Who will win more games Marcus Stroman or Carlos Rodon?

  3. What player will the Yankees acquire at the Trade Deadline?

  4. Name the Top 3 Teams (in order) in the A.L. at season's end.

Enjoy!

  1. Soto, if he bats ahead of Judge a lot.

  2. Probably Stroman but close. Neither one is the answer to the rotation problem.

  3. AL East: Orioles, Blue Jays, Yankees

  1. Soto runs wild hitting behind Judge

  2. Rodon bounces back

  3. Dylan Cease helps when injuries hit the rotation

  4. Yankees put it all together. Houston keeps rolling. Baltimore held back by problems in the rotation

Okay, here goes..........

  1. Juan Soto (Because he is hitting in front of Aaron Judge)

  2. Carlos Rodon (Because AS LONG AS HE IS HEALTHY, and he regains his form of 2021 and 2022 as a result, he is the #2 pitcher, the "secondary ace" of this staff, behind Gerrit Cole)

  3. Nolan Arenado (IF the Cardinals have another bad season, and decide to have a "Fire Sale", they might make Arenado available as a result, otherwise Dylan Cease)

  4. New York (AL)......Baltimore.......Houston

  5. A PREDICTION OF MY OWN: What will John Sterling's homerun call be when Jorbit Vivas hits a homer for the Yankees? MY PREDICTION: "Jorbit! Puts one into orbit!"

I thought I read that the early reports were upper 90's, but since they've been tracking data available to the public this spring, it's more like mid 90's, like 94. The big thing that will make the contract worth it is the 3rd pitch.

Adames seems much the likely replacement candidate should they decide that Gleyber has got to go

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
