Readers, let's have some fun today. Please give your honest predictions about how Aaron Judge's 2026 season will play out by predicting the following stats that he'll put up this year:
Games -
Hits -
Home Runs -
RBIs -
AVG -
OBP -
SLG -
Will Judge win the AL MVP?
***

Games - 147
Hits - 164
Home Runs - 44
RBIs - 97
AVG - .300
OBP - .396
SLG -.607
He will be top 5 in MVP - but will NOT win his 4th in 2026
I can't come up with all the specific numbers, but this is the year Judge comes back to Earth. He's still an All-Star, but his OPS will be in the .800-.900 range, with WAR between 6.0 and 7.0. He'll get MVP votes, but he won't win (or deserve to win). I'd love to be wrong and for him to have another Judgian season, but I think that at 34, the decline is about to start.
I just wrote a fun artice for the IBWAA with a unique prediction for Judge's 2026 season. That article will run in their newsletter this coming Saturday and will appear on these pages next week.
I don't wish to spoil the surprise, but I will leave this little nugget:
If my formula is correct, Judge's numbers will be way down, but, all is not lost...
Games - 145
Hits - 175
Home Runs - 55
RBIs - 110
AVG - .288
OBP - .475
SLG -.625
Those look like MVP numbers to me
last season, he succeeded in raised his BA
this season should be the one in which he gets his OBP to where it should be,
above .500
