For me, it's about seeing some of the kids in Spring Training because guys went off to the WBC, starting with then-rookie Melky Cabrera in 2006. or both Dominguez & Narvzez in 2023. I love being able to see more of Lagrange & Hess because of the 5 pitchers off to the WBC, who would all need innings if they were here.

I'm trying to get excited by the WBC but I still can't manage to watch more than an occasional highlight. If the USA plays Japan in the final, then that might be intriguining enough for me to tune in on.

I find myself being far more interested in watching spring training games. I was hoping to see Nick Torres get ten or twenty at-bats this spring, but looks like that's not happening. Here I thought he had a remote chance to make the opening day roster as a fourth outfielder. Guess again! Looks like the Yankees have all but given the 4th outfielder spot to Grichuk as he fills the team's need for a right-handed bat that can hit left-handed…

I saw some tagline somewhere, don't remember from which site, but the question is: Is Grisham's job in jeopardy? I think no matter what, Spencer Jones unless traded is starting the year in SWB (AAA). I think Grisham is going to have to be at least average to not lose playing time the first couple of months, no matter who is the designated 4th OF. And if both Dominguez & Jones are ripping the cover off the ball in SWB, I can see the Yankees trying to unload Grisham as soon as the calendar hits June 15.

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
