John "Mac" McGrath was my friend. He was the creator of the North East Streaming Sports Newtork where I appear on Monday Nights at 9:00 p.m. (with EJ Fagan) for the Start Spreading the News Podcast and at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings with the Dr. Sem Yankees Show.
Mac and I first met when he reached out an invited me to appear on his podcast. It wasn't long before I was part of the Mac and Jack Show on Saturday mornings. We did this together for years. During that time, Mac asked me to have a show of my own, and then two shows, on his network.
It was through Mac's efforts that I had the opportunity to reach out to Roy White and ask him to write his autobiography with me. Without Mac, From Compton to the Bronx would have never be written.
Sadly, John "Mac" McGrath passed away on May 3.
The following is a tribute show that was aired and recorded yesterday morning in his honor. I regret that I was unable to participate in this program due to a prior engagement. I will pay tribute to Mac on tonight's episode of the Start Spreading the News Podcast.
The photo on the home page was from two years ago when Mac, Jack, and I (along with Mac's wife Linda) attended the pre-season Giants vs Jets game at Met Life Stadium.
Here then are just a few of Mac's friends honoring this very good man who we all miss greatly:

I "met" Mac a couple of times when I was on the SSTN podcast. Real nice, welcoming guy. Praying for his family.
My condolences on the loss of your friend. May his memory be a blessing to his family and friends.
