Cabrera will be here in the Bronx. He was always ready to be the PR/ defensive replacement almost anywhere but catcher. Heck, he played 1B in the 2 road games this past week. I can see him getting 350 ABs, and then I can see his line for the 2024 season as 101 GP, 172 ABs, with a combined 27 GS.
With Durbin and Downs off to unimpressive starts with the bats and Lombard not getting any playing time, I predict Cashman will soon trade for backup SS/3B....unless Jorbit emerges. I suppose Cabrera could suddenly start hitting, but I'm not impressed with him these days. He continues to look lost at the plate.
